INFORMATION SHARING PROGRAMME ORGANIZED BY POWER HR FORUM back

To expedite early completion of project during schedule, critical issue associated with land acquisition, R&R & CSR needs a relook amidst, changing awareness & expectation of project affected people, civic groups and govt. authorities. With this view Power HR Forum which is an association of Central Power Sector PSUs organized a two days experience sharing on land acquisition, R&R & CSR. The programme was organized from Nov. 10 – 11, 2008 in Power Management Institute, Noida. The representatives from the organzaition members like BBMB, NIPCCO, NHPC, NTPC, PFC, PGCIL, REC, THDC & SJVN participated in the programme. The representatives from SJVN Sh. R. K. Jassal, Manager (DRB), Praveen Chandra, Manager (Civil) and Sh. Awadhesh Prasad, DM (R&R) participated in the programme. The participants from various organizations made presentations on their activities and shared experiences. SJVN representatives made presentation on CSR and R&R activities being carried out in SJVN. The sharing programme was facilitated by Dr. Vasudha Dhagamwar and Dr. Aqueel Khan. Dr. Dhagamwar is a meticulous researcher, a legal activist, a legal lawyer in Supreme Court of India and a renowned author. Whereas Dr. Aqueel Khan is a renowned development professional associated with ADB, CARE, OXFAM, AusAid etc. They discussed various land acquisition, CSR and R&R related issues and gave valuable suggestions for best practices. The main feature of the discussion of the programme was that the affected families of any project be made partners of the project by investment of a part of their payable compensation towards capital for the project and paying them the share of profit generated from the project. The sharing programme held in a true spirit of co-operation and at the end of the programme Sh. Rastogi, ED (HR), NTPC extended vote of thanks.
